Where is the restaurant?
We are located in Old Town Alexandria on the corner of King and South Henry streets. We are 0.5 miles (approx. 7 blocks) away from the King Street-Old Town metro station with service from the Blue and Yellow lines.
The King Street Trolley is FREE and runs every 15 minutes from 11 AM to 11 PM from the King Street-Old Town metro station to Alexandria City Hall/Market square seven days a week, including holidays. The closest trolley stop to our front door is located on the corner of King and N. Patrick streets, conveniently only one block over.
Where should I park?
Hourly metered parking is available along most of the streets surrounding our location, along with multiple paid lots and garages. The following three are closest in proximity to the restaurant:

When can I make a reservation?
Reservations are released 28 days in advance via Resy. You may contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book a table further in advance. Our largest table seats 6.
May I book a group reservation?
For groups between 7 – 15 guests, you can request booking directly by emailing email@example.com.
Do you have an outdoor patio?
Yes! Our patio is available seasonally via reservations. We do not allow dogs on our patio. It is partially covered by sun shades. In the event of rain, we reach out to folks with patio reservations to offer alternative seating dates, times or locations.
Is your restaurant accessible?
As with many buildings in historic Old Town Alexandria, our entrance is at the top of a few stairs. We have a modest elevator in the rear of our building to provide accessibility to guests who need it. Please make a note in your reservation so we can best coordinate your visit.
What is your corkage policy?
You may bring in outside bottles of wine that are not on our current wine list. We simply charge a corkage fee of $25 per 750ml bottle. Other than wine bottles, no outside food or beverage is permitted.
What is your gift card policy? I have one from Falls Church Thompson Italian; may I use it here?
Yes! We offer electronic and physical gift cards, which may be redeemed at either Thompson Italian location.
I love a particular dish/dessert/wine/cocktail from Thompson Italian in Falls Church, can I eat it here?
In some cases, yes! We will have a few of our favorite items available in both locations, but each restaurant’s overall menu offerings will be unique. You can expect to see rotating, seasonal items at both Thompson Italians, but the menus will not be identical. You can check out our current menus online here.
What are Supper Trays?
These tasty large-format dishes are designed to make meal time easy at home or on the go.
Each tray serves 4-6 people and can be ordered HOT or COLD:
Order HOT if you’ll be serving dinner right away.
Order COLD if you’re planning to reheat your meal before serving.
Please note that at least one-day’s notice is required for all Supper Tray orders.
When ordering online, be sure to select ‘Schedule for Later’ and choose a pick-up time at least one day in advance. No same-day Supper Tray orders, please. Supper Trays are available for pick-up only (no delivery).
