Gabe grew up outside of San Antonio. His fondest food memories are of eating Tex Mex with his grandparents in Hondo, TX, which has led to a 25+ year career in the food industry. Trained by Eric Ripert at Le Bernardin and Mark Ladner at Del Posto, he was the executive chef of dell’anima, L’Artusi, L’Apicio, Anfora, Epicurean Events, and he also co-founded Epicurean Management in NYC. He was the opening executive chef for RPM Italian in DC.
Gabe co-authored his first cookbook, Downtown Italian, in 2014 and has been featured in Bon Appetit, Serious Eats, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the Washingtonian among others. His TV experience includes The Martha Stewart Show, Bravo’s Best New Restaurant and Good Day DC.
